Things are looking different in the grounds of Chadlington House this year as our Pre-Preparatory School becomes home to two Armadilla Pods specifically designed for music lessons.
With over 250 music lessons a week across the school, King’s Rochester has invested in these custom built eco-friendly structures to ensure Pre-Preparatory students make the most of their music lessons, away from the hustle and bustle of the school house. Nestled securely at the front of the School, and with inspirational views of The Paddock, the Pods will provide a cosy quiet space for music lessons all year round.
Armadilla Pods have been designed to minimise energy use for lighting, heating and cooling. Their unique shape allows for an efficient use of space avoiding the “cold corners” often found within rectangular rooms. The entire Pod including the floor, is covered with high performance close cell insulation which keeps the heat in on cold days and allows the Pod to cool on hot days. With underfloor heating, double glazed windows and natural ventilation, the Pods will provide students with a comfortable environment as they hone their musical skills.
King’s Rochester remains committed to bringing music to life and we eagerly await to see what the Pods will inspire in our students.
