Entering the Sixth Form is an exciting time in a young person’s life. It is a time of opportunity and personal development as pupils make the transition from school children to young adults. The Sixth Form at King’s prepares students for the next phase in their lives – for both University and beyond – by continuing the combination of flexible, friendly and approachable teaching but now in smaller groups where relationships with teachers can be less formal.
The excellent pastoral care that underpins life at King’s continues in the Sixth Form but, as students are treated increasingly like adults, they are supported to become more independent in their studies and in the way they approach their work. This greater responsibility prepares our Sixth formers for life beyond School.
Sixth formers enjoy their own Sixth Form Centre situated in historic buildings overlooking the Cathedral Precincts. The Centre includes a work room equipped with PCs for independent study and Private Reading periods and a comfortable Common Room for Sixth Formers to relax during free time.
