King's Rochester Sports Centre

At the end of 2012, King’s Rochester’s acquired the formerly Medway Council-run Stirling Centre and invested half a milion pounds in its renovation and refurbishment. Now called The King's Rochester Sports Centre, this exciting partnership venture offers King's pupils, from Prep to Sixth Form, and the local community, some of the best sporting facilities in the South East. The extensive redecoration and refit was completed in late summer 2013 and included reflooring, remarking and re-equipping the vast, multi-purpose Sports Hall for badminton, football and basketball, indoor hockey and trampolining and total refurbishment of all internal areas including a fitness suite with state-of-the-art cardiovascular equipment, viewing galleries, seminar break-out rooms and a bar and lounge area. Outside the newly-landscaped grounds offer 7 brand new LTA-approved tennis courts and 5 netball courts.

As well as providing excellent facilities for King's pupils, the Centre is also open seven days a week for the use of the local community  from 06.30 to 22.30 (Monday to Friday)  and from 09.00 to 18.30 on Saturday and from 09.00 to 21.30 on Sunday, providing first-class, convenient and affordable sporting and social activities to Rochester residents. Members of the public, local schools and sports clubs may hire the Centre and individuals can take advantage of the wide range of activities on offer during the day, in the evenings and at weekends including fitness, yoga and pilates classes and a wide range of sports and recreational activities including Tots' trampolining and roller-skating. Private functions can be catered for and we also offer conference facilities (with or without bar and catering provision), hall hire and organised and catered children’s parties.  During school holidays, the team runs successful activities clubs for local children aged 6-15 as well as tennis coaching sessions with an LTA tennis coach.
